| Spanish abstract | Se comunica el caso de un paciente de 15 años de edad con coiloniquia en todas las uñas de las manos. La coiloniquia es frecuente durante la infancia y generalmente es una condición fisiológica. Sin embargo, puede ser la manifestación clínica de algunos padecimientos, como la deficiencia de hierro. El caso que se comunica se consideró hereditario después de excluir causas bien conocidas de coiloniquia adquirida y al observar una morfología similar en la madre y hermano del paciente |
| English abstract | This paper reports the case of a 15-year-old male patient with koilonychia affecting all fingernails. Koilonychia is frequent during childhood, and it is usually a physiologic condition. Nevertheless, it can be the clinical manifestation of some entities such as iron deficiency.The case reported on this paper was considered hereditary after excluding well-known causes of acquired koilonychia and after noticing a similar morphology on the patient’s mother and brother |
