| Spanish abstract | A partir de la etnografía del centro turístico de Huatulco, el artículo analiza la manera en que grupos de migrantes llegados de lugares muy diferentes han logrado construir nuevos territorios —como “una experiencia integrada del espacio” (Haesbaert)— y, en con- secuencia, nuevas identidades colectivas. Se trata de la Colonia 20 de Noviembre, también conocida como El Crucero, donde han confluido cientos de familias que se han asentado en lotes asigna- dos por Fonatur (Fondo Nacional para el Turismo), construyendo literalmente una nueva territorialidad en el sentido riguroso que confiere a este término la geografía cultural. El artículo analiza los aspectos políticos y simbólicos que permitieron esta apropiación de un espacio nuevo por parte de migrantes dedicados a los servicios turísticos, generando una nueva identidad pueblerina fuertemente integrada según modelos tradicionales, en contraposición a los sim- ples aglomerados aluvionales |
| English abstract | Through an ethnography of Huatulco’s tourist center, this text analyzes the way in which groups of migrants, that come from very different places, have managed to construct new territo- ries - as “an integrated experience of the space” (Haesbaert) - and, in consequence, new collective identities. It talks about the November 20 County, also known as The Cruise, where hundreds of families have converged and have settled themselves in lots assigned by Fonatur (National Fund for Tourism), literally constructing a new territoriality, in the rigorous sense that cultural geography assigns to this term. The text analyzes the poli- tical and symbolic aspects that enabled this appropriation of a new space on the part of migrants dedicated the tourist services, generating a new, strongly integrated provincial identity, following traditional models, in contraposition with the simple agglomerates of great numbers of peoples |
