| Spanish abstract | El presente trabajo hace un análisis histórico sobre la prostitución en el intento de responder a la básica pregunta de cuál es la razón de la permanente existencia de esta profesión a lo largo de la historia. Si es verdad que el debate sobre el qué hacer con la prostitución —prohibición o legalización— ha sido una preocupación constante en nuestras sociedades, pocas veces indagamos en el fondo de nuestras estructuras sociales para intentar entender (alejándonos de lo obvio) ¿por qué existe la prostitución? y entonces, quizás, poder erradicarla |
| English abstract | In this text a historical analysis on prostitution is presented with the aim of answering the basic question: what it is the reason of the permanent existence of this profession through history? If it is true that the debate on what to do with prostitution: prohibition or legalization, has been a constant worry in our societies, we rarely investigate in the deep part of our social structures in order to try to understand (apart from the obvious thing) why does prostitution exist? and once we answer that, probably proceed to its eradication |
