| Spanish abstract | Propongo una interpretación del género policial como una matriz discursiva que, si bien contiene un potencial crítico, tampoco puede reivindicarse como una crítica sociológica de las transgresiones y los castigos del orden social. En la tensión entre su potencia crítica y su carácter de producto de la industria cultural, consideramos que la tendencia (por parte de críticos y escritores) a valorar el aspecto crítico del género deja relegado el hecho de que, al mismo tiempo, constituye un bien cultural de consumo ordinario en la vida diaria del orden social capitalista |
| English abstract | In this text, I suggest an interpretation of crime fiction as a discursive matrix that, although containing critical potential, cannot be claimed as sociological criticism of the transgressions and punishments of social order. In the tension between its critical power and its nature as a product of the cultural industry, I consider that the tendency (on the part of critics and writers) to value the critical aspect of the genre relegates the fact that, concurrently, it constitutes a cultural good of ordinary consumerism in the daily life of the capitalist social order |
