| Spanish abstract | El presente artículo analiza una serie de entrevistas realizadas entre febrero y diciembre del 2017 a mujeres migrantes nicaragüenses que actualmente habitan en Costa Rica, a su vez, estas mujeres son líderes de la Asociación Enlaces Nicaragüenses en la comunidad de Río Azul; se realizaron las entrevistas con el fin de comprender los principales motivos por los cuales decidieron organizarse y conformar dicha asociación. La investigación concluye que las mujeres entrevistadas ejercen la ciudadanía desde Enlaces Nicaragüenses, independientemente de su estatus migratorio, ya que conocer y exigir sus derechos es clave para la supervivencia |
| English abstract | This article analyzes a series of interviews conducted between February and December of 2017 with Nicaraguan migrant women currently living in Costa Rica. These women are leaders of the Asociación Enlaces Nicaragüenses in the Río Azul community and the interviews were conducted to understand the principal reasons why they decided to organize and start this association. The research concludes that the women interviewed exercise their citizenship through the Nicaraguan Links Association, regardless of their immigration status since knowing what their rights are and demanding their implementation is fundamental to survival |
