| Spanish abstract | Este artículo pretende describir y analizar la forma en que las mujeres musulmanas experimentan (embodiment) y exteriorizan (performance) su religiosidad y/o identidad religiosa. Para cumplir con este objetivo nos proponemos, en primer lugar, explicar brevemente el concepto de din islámico; prestando especial atención a las nociones de sumisión y unicidad. En segundo lugar, exponer las normas más relevantes que configuran las relaciones de género en el Islam. En tercer y último lugar, reflexionar -a partir de los usos y sentidos del hiyab o pañuelo islámico- sobre la capacidad de agencia de estas mujeres y acerca de la relación que ellas establecen entre los conceptos o principios islámicos de sumisión, pudor y modestia durante la constitución de su self y la respectiva definición de su presencia en el mundo (ser-en el-mundo). Utilizaremos como principal material de análisis las entrevistas que realizamos durante nuestro trabajo de campo con mujeres pertenecientes a una comunidad shiíta de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires |
| English abstract | This article aims to describe and analyze how Muslim women experience (embodiment) and externalize (performance) their religiosity or religious identity. In order to achieve this purpose, in first place, we are going to explain the concept of Islamic din; paying especial attention to the notions of submission and uniqueness. In second place, we will expose the most important rules that shape gender relations in Islam. Third and finally, we want to think -taking the uses and meanings of hijab as a starting point- over muslim women agency and the relationship they establish between islamic principles of submission and modesty during their self-constitution and the definition of their presence in the world (being in the world). Our main analysis source will be the interviews we have realized to different women during our fieldwork in a Shiite community in Buenos |
