| Spanish abstract | En este escrito reflexiono las situaciones de riesgo que condicionaron mi trabajo de campo en una comunidad indígena ubicada en la Meseta Purépecha del estado de Michoacán y sobre cómo la posibilidad de contar lo que “realmente pasó” en la historia de esa comunidad; la necesidad política de establecer la verdad se convirtió en un elemento de disputa entre algunos de sus miembros, colocándome en situaciones conflictivas. Las preocupaciones que plasmo en este artículo son endógenas, es decir, rastrean el problema en la antropología misma. Para ello pongo en comunicación tres nociones: rumor, historia y miedo. Las cuestiones que se plantean son: ¿cuáles son los canales que buscaban los comuneros para que su narración fuera escuchada, desplazada, validada y se convirtiera en verdad, incurriendo en acciones que podían poner en peligro al propio etnógrafo? ¿Cómo se configura el lugar desde donde se autoriza el discurso sobre el pasado, plasmado en la producción de historia? |
| English abstract | In this paper I reflect on the risky situations that conditioned my field work in an indigenous community located in the Purépecha Plateau of the state of Michoacán (Mexico), and on the possibilities of telling what “really happened” in the history of that community; the political need to establish the truth became an element of dispute among some of the community members, thus placing me in conflictive situations. The concerns that I express in this article are endogenous, that is, the problem is ascertained through anthropology itself. For this reason, I categorize communication in three concepts: rumor, history and fear. The general questions are: What are the channels that the community members were looking for so as to have Their narrative heard, displaced, validated and turned into truth, by engaging in actions that could endanger the ethnographer himself? What is the configuration of the place from where the discourse on the past is authorized and thus embodied in the production of history? |
