| Spanish abstract | Los tiempos de violencia surcan hoy las vidas de muchos mexicanos, algunos la experimentan directamente, otros como espectadores del horror de la muerte, desapariciones y de las otras muchas violencias que traspasan los diferentes paisajes de la vida en México. El presente artículo tiene dos objetivos primordiales: el primero, presentar varias miradas de algunos destacados antropólogos que se han cuestionado desde distintos ángulos el porqué de la violencia; y, el segundo, analizar, mostrar, explicar las dificultades que se pueden presentar al hacer el trabajo de campo en tiempos, espacios y geografías de violencia, así como visibilizar la necesidad del cuidado emocional de los antropólogos al enfrentarse, vivir y escribir sus etnografías |
| English abstract | The current prevalence of violence affects the lives of many Mexicans, some experiencing it directly, others only as spectators of the horror of death, disappearances and the many other forms of violence that intervene in the different landscapes of life throughout Mexico. This article has two primary objectives: the first, to present a range of views from some prominent anthropologists who have questioned the reasons for violence from different angles; the second is to analyze, illustrate and explain the difficulties that can occur when doing field work in times, spaces and geographies where violence is prevelant, as well as promoting the need for the emotional care of anthropologists when facing, living and writing their ethnographies |
