| English abstract | This article analyses some of the philosophical influences in the musical texts of Adorno (1903-1969) with his social criticism, which is presented in the Dialectic of Enlightenment, of 1947. Before writing this work in partnership with Max Horkheimer, Adorno had already studied some of the central elements for creating the concept of cultural industry in his essays on music. After publishing the Dialectic of Enlightenment, Adorno publishes in the late 40s a book entitled Philosophy of Modern Music, which he considers a digression to the Dialectic itself. However, the text about the new music presents concepts that are previous to the Dialectic, since they are present in his criticism towards the musical situation |
| Portuguese abstract | A proposta deste artigo é analisar algumas influências filosóficas nos textos musicais de Adorno (1903-1969) com sua crítica social, elaborada na Dialética do Esclarecimento, de 1947. Antes de redigir este trabalho em parceria com Max Horkheimer, Adorno já estudara alguns elementos centrais para a elaboração do conceito de indústria cultural em seus ensaios sobre música. Depois da publicação da Dialética, Adorno ainda publica, no final dos anos 1940, o livro Filosofia da Nova Música, que o filósofo considera uma digressão à própria Dialética. Todavia, o texto sobre a nova música não deixa de apresentar conceitos que são anteriores à Dialética, por estarem presentes em sua crítica à situação musical |
