| English abstract | Albrecht Wellmer is an author belonging to the second generation of the so-called Frankfurt School – or Critical Theory of Society. This article aims to show how the paradigm of the philosophy of consciousness, characteristic of the first generation, is overcome by the philosophy of language as proposed by Habermas, configuring in this way the epistemological movement to the second generation. On the basis of this transition of paradigm I try to show that one of the most important differences of Wellmer in relation to Habermas refers to the way in which he interprets Adorno’s Aesthetic Theory, by ascribattributing to it the status of a theory of communication, since the aesthetic claim of the modern work of art also involves a truth claim, which supports the “situationist perspective of truth” advocated by Wellmer |
| Portuguese abstract | Albrecht Wellmer é um autor pertencente à segunda geração da assim chamada Escola de Frankfurt – ou Teoria Crítica da sociedade. Este artigo tem por objetivo mostrar, em termos gerais, a superação do paradigma da filosofia da consciência, característica da primeira geração, em direção à filosofia da linguagem proposta por Habermas, configurando desse modo o movimento epistemológico na direção da segunda geração. A partir dessa transição de paradigma, tento mostrar que uma das diferenças centrais de Wellmer em relação a Habermas se refere ao modo de interpretar a Teoria Estética de Adorno, ao lhe atribuir o status de teoria da comunicação, já que a pretensão estética da obra de arte moderna também configura uma pretensão de verdade, o que serve de apoio à “perspectiva situacionista da verdade” defendida por Wellmer |
