| English abstract | The various texts that circulate in society do not always allow us to overcome their linguistic limits and to analyze them thoroughly. Some of them become unclear as they require that we have a more specific kind of knowledge such knowledge about the world, encyclopedic or general knowledge. Discourse Analysis not only provides us with efficient theoretical methods to analyze any kind of speech but also helps us to go beyond the first superficial reading of a text. Therefore, the aim of this article is to showing the importance of Discourse Analyzes for the understanding of enunciations of any length or of any textual genre. In order to exemplify what is meant, the article discusses two kinds of speeches, viz. an advertisement text and its scenography and a poem, as well as their ethos, faces and sponsor. | Portuguese abstract | Os diversos textos que circulam na sociedade nem sempre nos permitem ir além dos seus limites linguísticos e analisá-los mais profundamente. Alguns deles tornam-se obscuros na medida em que exigem de nós conhecimentos mais específicos (como o de mundo, enciclopédicos ou genéricos). A Análise do Discurso nos fornece métodos teóricos eficientes para a análise de todo tipo de discurso, como também nos auxilia a ultrapassar a superficialidade da primeira leitura de um texto. O objetivo desse trabalho é, portanto, mostrar a importância da Análise do Discurso na compreensão dos enunciados, tendo eles qualquer extensão ou pertencendo a qualquer tipo ou gênero textual. Para exemplificar o que dizemos, analisamos dois discursos, um texto publicitário e a sua cenografia, e um poema, bem como seu ethos, suas faces e seu fiador.
