| English abstract | The website Flickr is an image management platform which works as a kind of showcase of what is being photographed around the world. Through the analysis of some wedding photos available on the platform it is possible to understand to what extend digital photography and its network sharing on the internet transformed photography into a tool that forges identities and allows communications. These networks shares not only photos but also worldviews, feelings, values, and of course, gender roles, especially in relation to the bride. Photography is a manufactured artifact that works as a mediator in the interhuman relationships, acting in structures and social conventions of society. The wedding photography, more than an object-image, it’s a way of seeing and thinking about the world, which produces representations of the past, present and future within the conventions that mark the social imaginary and influence the construction of the real. | Portuguese abstract | A plataforma de gerenciamento de imagens Flickr é uma vitrine do quê e como está sendo fotografado pelo mundo. A partir da análise de algumas fotografias de casamento disponíveis na plataforma é possível apontar como a fotografia digital e seu compartilhamento em rede na internet transformou a fotografia em uma ferramenta na formação da identidade de um indivíduo e de sua comunicabilidade, a qual reverbera pela sociedade visões de mundo, sentimentos, valores, e claro, papéis de gênero, especialmente em relação à noiva. A fotografia é um artefato produzido que funciona como mediador na relação que tecemos com a sociedade, a partir das estruturas e convenções sociais. A fotografia de casamento mais que um objeto-imagem, é uma maneira de ver e pensar o mundo, que elabora representações do passado, presente e futuro dentro das convenções que marcam o imaginário social e influenciam a construção do real. As milhões de fotografias etiquetadas com a tag wedding e bride nos colocam diante de padrões visuais que moldam papéis de gênero, alterando convenções e ampliando a diversidade |
