| English abstract | From a discursive vision of democracy that puts the deliberation at the center of the democratic process, this article aims to analyze the deliberative potential of online conversations on issues related to feminism, analysing 1,079 comments from six different posts of the feminist blog Escreva, Lola, Escreva (ELE). The analysis methodology was inspired by a codebook proposed by Stromer-Galley (2007), based on Habermas’ theory, which suggests that the analysis of the deliberative potential of daily conversations should take into consideration the reasoned opinion expression, the source of the opinion, the existence of divergence, the maintenance of the primary topic and the level of engagement of the participants. It was noted that the conversation focused mainly on the confict between the subjects and was marked by disrespect. However, the high rate of divergence is benefcial for deliberation, since it points to the existence of different points of view and permits the subjects to work their argumentation, as well as denoting the presence of engagement |
| Portuguese abstract | Partindo da visão discursiva da democracia que põe a deliberação como centro do processo democrático, este artigo tem como objetivo analisar o potencial deliberativo das conversações online sobre questões relacionadas ao feminismo, através da análise de 1.079 comentários de seis diferentes posts do blog feminista Escreva, Lola escreva (ELE). A metodologia de análise foi inspirada em um livro de códigos proposto por Stromer-Galley (2007), com base na teoria habermasiana, que propõe que a análise do potencial deliberativo de conversações cotidianas leve em consideração a justifcação expressa da opinião, a fonte de embasamento, a existência de divergência, a manutenção do tópico primário e o nível de engajamento dxs participantes. Notou-se que a conversação se centrou sobretudo no confito entre os sujeitos marcado pelo desrespeito. Entretanto, o alto índice de divergência é benéfco para a deliberação, uma vez que assinala a existência de pontos de vista diferentes e propende o sujeito a trabalhar sua argumentação, bem como denota a presença de engajamento |
