| English abstract | housands of movies are produced per year in Africa. Talk about cinema in Africa is talk about possible ways of its realization movies are usually made and distributed on VHS or DVD, which does not invalidate the creation of a unique language that comes from the same production conditions. To learn more about each other and try to understand their place in the construction of a new narrative, more appropriate to the necessary reduction of current cultural boundaries, we need to understand its discourse about the other that represented who we are. In this context, it puts this question: how African societies absorbed, transformed or rejected the model of Western narrative of moder - nity? Accordingly , and based on the premise that cinema, as a visible form, is more than just a cultural form and/or artistic, it is also a way to organize and reflect on the world, I will use this medium as a vehicle that may help us understand the marks that the West left in the African cultures |
| Portuguese abstract | Na África são produzidos milhares de filme por ano. Falar de cinema em África é falar da procura de meios possíveis para a sua realização os filmes, quase sempre são feitos e distribuídos em VHS ou DVD, o que não invalida a criação de uma linguagem própria que advém das condições mesmas de produção. Para conhecer melhor o outro e tentar perceber o seu lugar na construção de uma nova narrativa, mais adequada ao necessário esbatimento das fronteiras culturais actuais, precisamos de apreender o seu discurso sobre os outros, que somos nós. Neste contexto, coloca-se esta questão: de que maneira as sociedades africanas absorveram, transformaram ou rejeitaram, o modelo de narrativa ocidental da modernidade? Assim sendo, e partindo da premissa que o cinema, como forma visível, é mais do que apenas uma forma cultural e/ou artística, é também uma maneira de se organizar e de se reflectir sobre o mundo, irei utilizar este medium como veículo que poderá ajudar-nos a compreender as marcas que o ocidente deixou nas culturas africanas |
