| Spanish abstract | El objetivo de esta nota crítica es hacer una exploración inicial de las imágenes botánicas en el poemario Zozobra (1919) de Ramón López Velarde. La hipótesis de trabajo es que flores, árboles y frutos son más que el ornamento de ambientes más o menos idealizados. Considero que la vegetación es plasmada, por supuesto, por su belleza natural; pero también para reflejar una serie de estados físicos y emocionales del poeta y de las mujeres amadas. Debe destacarse, igualmente, que el simbolismo vegetal fue evolucionando de manera significativa a lo largo de la trayectoria del escritor. | English abstract | The aim of this article is to make an initial exploration of the botanical images in the Zozobra (1919) collection of poems by Ramón López Velarde. The hypothesis in this essay is that flowers, trees and fruits are not only the ornament of idealized environments. I consider that the vegetation is portrayed, of course, because of its natural beauty; but it also reflects physical and emotional states of the poet and the women whom he loves. Likewise, it should be noted that plant symbolism evolved significantly throughout the writer’s career. The approaches of La provincia inmutable.
