| Spanish abstract | Este artículo analiza, a través de teorías feministas, las motivaciones de las mujeres que cometen actos de terrorismo suicida y cuestiona si éstas son iguales o diferentes a las de los hombres. Asimismo, se examina el rol que desarrollan dentro de las organizaciones terroristas y cuáles son sus objetivos finales. Por último, se intenta determinar si el fenómeno de las terroristas suicidas es un reflejo de una creciente equidad en su contexto social o meramente una forma de explotación de su imagen y una perpetuación de sus roles tradicionales. Para esta investigación, se abordaron tres episodios donde las mujeres tienen una amplia participación: primero en el conflicto palestino-israelí, posteriormente en el caso de las Tigresas Negras de los Tigres de Liberación de Tamil Eelam y por último, en el conflicto checheno con las denominadas "viudas |
| English abstract | This article analyzes, through the lens of feminist theories, the motivations of women who engage in acts of suicide terrorism and question whether they are different from those of men. Their role in these organizations and their objectives are also examined. Finally, the article attempts to determine if the phenomenon of female suicide terrorism reflects increasing equality in their social context or is merely a way of exploiting the stereotypical image and traditional roles of women.
