| Spanish abstract | El 18 de abril de 1955 falleció en el Hospital de la Universidad de Princeton, N.J., por ruptura de un aneurisma de la aorta abdominal el famoso científico Albert Einstein. Para evitar que su tumba se convirtiera en una especie de sitio turístico, y contrariando los principios de la fe judía, que prohíbe la cremación, Einstein había dispuesto que su cuerpo fuera cremado y sus cenizas arrojadas a un río cercano, lo que se efectuó al día siguiente de su muerte; sin embargo, el patólogo que efectuó la autopsia conservó el cerebro para estudiarlo y huyó. Se mantuvo escondido durante 40 años hasta que fue localizado y después de una larga jornada, regresó lo que quedaba del tejido cerebral al Departamento de Patología del hospital de la Universidad de Princeton |
| English abstract | On April 18, 1955 died the famous scientist Albert Einstein due to the rupture of an abdominal aorta aneurysm at the Princeton University Hospital, NJ. To avoid his tomb becoming a sort of tourist attraction, and contravening the principles of Judaism, which prohibits cremation, Einstein had requested that his body be cremated and his ashes be strewn into a nearby river. This was followed on the next day of his death; however, the pathologist who had performed the autopsy kept the brain to study it and fled. He kept hidden for 40 years until he was found and, after a long journey, he returned the remnant brain tissue to the Department of Pathology of the Princeton University Hospital |
