| Spanish abstract | La migración es uno de los fenómenos de mayor importancia en el siglo XXI, pues para el 2013, alcanzó los 231.5 millones de personas en todo el mundo. México no escapa a este fenómeno, al contrario, tiene en la frontera norte que colinda con Estados Unidos, un corredor migratorio que registra miles de cruces diarios. En respuesta, el gobierno mexicano ha desplegado una serie de acciones para el manejo de los flujos migratorios hacia los Estados Unidos. Con este trabajo se propone exponer la política migratoria del gobierno mexicano hacia sus connacionales en los Estados Unidos, particularmente desde 1988 hasta la actualidad, al mismo tiempo que se realizará un análisis sobre estas acciones y su efecto en la contención del fenómeno migratorio, además de los servicios consulares que el gobierno mexicano provee a sus connacionales en los Estados Unidos, mismos que han promovido el fortalecimiento de las organizaciones de migrantes mexicanos, que se colocan como actores importantes en la elaboración de la Política Migratoria en México |
| English abstract | Migration is one of the phenomena of most importance in the XXI century; by 2013, it has reached 231.5 million people in the world. Mexico does not scape this phenomenon; it has a migration corridor with thousands of crossings a day. In response, the Mexican government has started a series of actions to manage the flow of migrants to the United States. The purpose of this paper is to expose the migration policy of the Mexican government to its compatriots in the United States, particularly since 1988 until today. At the same time it was done an analysis about these actions and their effects in the migration phenomena, the services that the Mexican government provides to its compatriots in the United States and how these services have promoted the strengthening of Mexican migrant organizations, which have become important players in the development of the Migration Policy in Mexico |
