| Spanish abstract | Este artículo desde una perspectiva teórica, aporta un marco de análisis que permite comprender de manera global la lógica estructural y la dinámica de los corredores multimodales, cuya configuración y reconfiguración es propiciada por la acción de actores sociales concretos que operan con una racionalidad dentro del sistema-mundo. Desde una perspectiva de investigación el trabajo señala que no habrá una reconfiguración a gran escala de los sistemas de transporte en el subcontinente latinoamericano. En todo caso, esta será paulatina, puesto que las nuevas opciones viables son escasas y existe una fuerte inercia de los actores globales para utilizar los corredores multimodales establecidos. Salvo los corredores multimodales de Manzanillo y Lázaro Cárdenas donde se aprecian ciertos datos que reflejan algunas fortalezas, los demás corredores no tienen claridad en cuanto a ventajas competitivas y geográficas sustantivas, o en cuanto a la presencia de actores globales de la logística y la transportación de mercancías que faciliten la atracción de flujos masivos desde los derroteros existentes hacia los nuevos corredores. Sigue siendo un reto que tanto en Lázaro Cárdenas como en Manzanillo mejore el rendimiento operativo del corredor y los tiempos de travesías del ferrocarril que representan un reto importante para alcanzar el justo a tiempo del mercado objetivo |
| English abstract | This article from a theoretical perspective, it provides a framework of analysis that allow to understand of globally way the structural logic and the dynamic of the multimodal corridors, whose configuration and reconfiguration is propitiated by the action of specific social actors that operate with a rationality inside of the world-system. From a research perspective the work indicates that there will not be a reconfiguration to large-scale of the transport system in the Latin America subcontinent. In any case, this will be gradual, since the new viable options are scarce and there is a strong inertia of the global actors to use the multimodal corridors established. Except the multimodal corridors of Manzanillo and Lazaro Cardenas where you appreciate certain data that reflect some strengths, the other corridors don´t have clarity regarding to substantive competitive advantages and geographical, or in regard to the presence of global actors of the logistics and transportation of goods to facilitate the attraction of massive flows from existing sailing directions toward the new corridors. It remains a challenge that both Lazaro Cardenas as Manzanillo improve the operational performance of the corridor and the railways crossings times that represent a important challenge to achieve the just in time for the target market |
