| Spanish abstract | A partir de un muestreo reciente se revisaron 106 ejemplares de Caribboecetes jenikarpae Just, 1984 recolectados a 10 m de profundidad en La Tijera, Oaxaca, representando el primer registro de la especie para el Pacífico mexicano desde su descripción. El material examinado presentó variaciones respecto a la descripción original que se relacionó con la talla de los organismos. Los ejemplares ocupaban conchas de gasterópodos Crassispira sp. y Anachis sp., por lo tanto no se observó especificidad en la elección de conchas que utilizan como residencia. Se amplía el ámbito de distribución geográfico y batimétrico, aproximadamente 590 km hacia el Pacífico sur de México y de 1.5 m a 10 m de profundidad |
| English abstract | From a recent sampling 106 specimens of Caribboecetes jenikarpae Just, 1984, were collected at 10 m depth in La Tijera, Oaxaca, configuring the first record for the Mexican Pacific since its description. The examined material has variations respect to original description, these variations are related to the size of the organisms. The specimens were found on shells of the gastropods Crassispira sp. and Anachis sp. Therefore not seem to have specificity in the shells that use as residence. The geographical and bathymetrical range is extended, approximately 590 km southern Pacific of Mexico and of 1.5 m to 10 m in deep |
