| Spanish abstract | En el presente trabajo se expone la incidencia de plagas y enfermedades en 21 variedades de arroz el Jardín de Cumanayagua en el año 2006. Se hicieron muestreos a los 60, 75 y 90 día de plantado el cultivo. Las plagas de mayor incidencia fueron: la sogata Tagosodes orizicolus Muir: en etapas tempranas y el ácaro Steneotarsonemus spinki Smiley en casi todas las variedades desde el inicio del cultivop, pero con bajos niveles. Entre las enfermedades las que más afectaron fueron la piriculariosis y el manchado del grano. Las variedades IR 69, V 4554, V4499, INCA 6, INCA 3, IA Cuba 33, IA Cuba 28, IA Cuba 26 y IA Cuba 23 mostraron susceptibilidad a Pyricularia oryzae Cooke mientras que las variedades Colección 1 y Colección 2 alcanzaron grado 1 como máximo. Las variedades Caribe, INCA 10, INCA 6, IA Cuba 28, IA Cuba 26, IA Cuba 23 y IA Cuba 19 manifestaron un mayor nivel de manchado del grano, mientras que las variedades Bolito Media Luna y J 104 sólo alcanzaron grado 2 como máximo. Las variedades LP 5 y Bolito Media Luna fueron, según las encuestas, las preferidas por los productores que participaron en la feria de biodiversidad, ya que manifestaron buen comportamiento agrícola y baja incidencia de plagas y enfermedades |
| English abstract | Presently work deal on the incidence of pest and diseases on 21 varieties of rice in the Garden of Cumanayagua, in the year 2006. Surveys were made at 60, 75 and 90 days after planting. The pests with more incidences were the insect Tagosodes orizicolus Muir, in early stages, and the mite Steneotarsonemus spinki Smiley in almost all the varieties from the beginning of the crop, but with low level. Among the diseases the most important were the spotted of the leaf caused by Pyricularia grisae Cooke and the spotted of the grain caused by Sarocladium oryzae Sawada. The varieties to IR 69, V 4554, V4499, INCA 6, INCA 3, IA Cuba 33, IA Cuba 28, IA Cuba 26 and IA Cuba 23 showed susceptibility to P. oryzae while the varieties Collection 1 and Collection 2 reached grade 1 as maximum. The varieties Caribbean, INCA 10, INCA 6, IA Cuba 28, IA Cuba 26, IA Cuba 23 and IA Cuba 19 manifested a bigger level of spotted of the grain, while the varieties Bolito Media Luna and J 104 only reached grade 2 as maximum. The varieties LP 5 and Bolito Media Luna were the favourite ones for the producers that participated in the biodiversity fair, since they manifested good agricultural behaviour and low incidence of pests and diseases |
