| English abstract | This article regains the discussion about the role of the drinking parties in some tupi-guarani peoples’ (XVI and XVII centuries) sociality. Present in all moments of passage, the most important drinking parties one could find in Brazilian coast of such times were those which were performed in order to support anthropophagical rites. It is not possible to understand the construction of kinship, political alliances as well as different subjectivities among those peoples without the consideration of these rites. Besides, they give shape to a critic of the human and social condition, which is also the basis of the so called prophetic movements, a kind of search of a space- time in which feast is a permanent state |
| Portuguese abstract | Este artigo retoma a discussão sobre o lugar das festas de bebida fermentada – cauinagens – na socialidade dos povos de língua tupi-guarani que habitavam a costa brasílica nos séculos XVI e XVII. Presentes em todos os momentos de passagem, as cauinagens mais importantes eram aquelas realizadas por ocasião de ritos antropofágicos. Não é possível compreender a construção do parentesco, das alianças políticas e das diferentes subjetividades (dos matadores, dos xamãs, das mulheres etc.) entre os Tupi da costa sem a consideração desses ritos. Além disso, eles dão forma a uma crítica da condição humana e social, encontrando-se, assim, com os chamados movimentos proféticos, busca de um espaço-tempo no qual a festa é perpétua |
