| Portuguese abstract | O presente artigo busca expor a crítica que Hannah Arendt faz ao teorema da secularização, como apresentado por autores contemporâneos. Em primeiro lugar, será distinguido o teorema do processo de secularização que ocorreu na modernidade, tal como é feito em Hans Blumenberg e na própria Arendt. Em um segundo momento, serão comentadas as teorias de Karl Löwith e Eric Voegelin, que exemplificam o teorema da secularização criticado por Hannah Arendt. Por fim, vamos expor as críticas da autora a esse teorema e mostrar como a rejeição à ideia de secularização está intimamente relacionada com sua interpretação da história. |
| English abstract | This article seeks to show Hannah Arendt's criticism of the secularization theorem, as presented by contemporary authors. Firstly, the theorem will be distinguished from the secularization process that occurred in modernity, as it is done by Hans Blumenberg and Arendt herself. In a second moment, the theories of Waldemar Gurian, Karl Löwith and Eric Voegelin will be commented, which will serve as examples of the secularization theorem criticized by Hannah Arendt. Finally, we will present the author's criticisms of this theorem and show how the rejection of the idea of secularization is closely related to her interpretation of history. |
