| English abstract | This article is the result of a literature survey conducted by the Emílio Goeldi Museum (MPEG) and funded by the National Counsel of Technological and Scientific Development (CNPq). The focus was given to the study of the concept of ribeirinidade as a category of livelihood in the cultural analysis of the riparian groups of the Amazon. The research expounded on the analysis of this concept taking as a basis for analysis the identification, reflection and analysis of some of the elements that correspond to the cultural expression of the riparian groups inhabiting the Amazon region |
| Portuguese abstract | Este artigo é o resultado de uma pesquisa bibliográfica realizada atra-vés do Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi (MPEG) e financiada pelo Conselho Na-cional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq). O enfoque foi dado ao estudo do conceito de ribeirinidade enquanto categoria de análise cultural do modo de vida dos povos ribeirinhos da Amazônia, através daidentificação, reflexão e análise de alguns dos elementos que correspondem à expressão cultural dos grupos que habitam às margens dos rios na região |
