| English abstract | This article examines some representations of the teacher’s character in Brazilian literature. Thus, we talk some aspects the history in the teaching profession and the entry of women in the public world in which she is the subject of representations, one of those places was the school, whose place representations are object of this text, reflected in the teachers in three literary works, the 1930s, O Quinze of Rachel de Queiroz (1930), São Bernardo of Graciliano Ramos (1934) and Mar Morto, by Jorge Amado (1936). | Portuguese abstract | Este artigo analisa algumas representações da professora na literatura brasileira. Para tanto, abordamos alguns aspectos da história da profissão docente e a entrada da mulher no mundo público, no qual ela é alvo de representações. Um desses locais foi a escola, refletido nas professoras em três obras literárias, da década de 1930, O Quinze, de Raquel de Queiroz (1930), São Bernardo, de Graciliano Ramos (1934) e Mar Morto, de Jorge Amado (1936).
