| Spanish abstract | Se presenta un discurso sobre la cosmovisión del Wisidatu entre lo estético, mitológico y espiritual, por lo tanto definir “Wisidatu” sin disponer de antemano de un cúmulo de testimonios tradicionales sobre su personalidad y actuaciones, sería imposible. El “Wisidatu” es el personaje central de la fenomenología religiosa en la etnia Warao. El Wisidatu es al mismo tiempo, el portador de mitos, el místico estático, el guía espiritual, el curandero de un grupo social. De tal forma que la sesión del Wisidatu viene a ser un evento público en el que la comunidad se reúne para realizar un ritual según una intención curativa o particular |
| English abstract | A discourse upon the cosmic viewing of the Wisidatu in aesthetic, mythological and spiritual terms, although to define the term Wisidatu without due consideration of a complex background is hardly feasible. However, the Wisidatu is a personage around whom the religious phenomenology of the Warao people turns. The Wisidatu is versed in myth, in mystical ecstasy, is a spiritual guide, and a healer in the social group. A session with the Wisidatu is a public event in which the community participates in a ritual for healing or for some other more particular purpose |
