| Spanish abstract | Este trabajo se dedica a la descripción y análisis de la visita como un ritual positivo de fuerte vigencia en el área andina. La visita se entiende como una forma de encuentro entre los espacios duales afuera/adentro, centrales para la concepción de la vida en una cultura en la que el sentido de territorialidad es muy fuerte y donde, por consiguiente, este ritual permite –bajos condiciones estrictas y reglamentadas– al visitante entrar en el territorio del visitado y, a éste, permitirle la entrada a aquél. Se encuentran varios estilos de visita: formal/informal y, además, ésta se distingue por las funciones que se le atribuyen: de cortesía, de enfermos, de amigos, etc., así como también según los participantes involucrados en el evento |
| English abstract | This study describes and analyses the visit as a ritual of positive politeness, cherished in the Andean zone. The visit is a form of conjoining the spaces of in/ out, which are central for the conception of life in a culture where the sense of territoriality is very strong. Consequently, this ritual permits –under strictly regulated conditions– the visitor to enter the territory of the visited, and the visited, to allow the entry of the visitor. Visits are of various styles going from the informal to the formal, and they vary according to the functions the accomplish: politeness, visits to the sick, to friends, etc. They vary also according to the participants in the event |
