| English abstract | The Hípana Stream (Jípana) or "Navel of the World" located in the Aiarí River, a tributary of the Isana River in Wapúi, in the Alto Río Negro Valley, State of Amazonas, Brazil, constitutes the most sacred site of ethnogenesis for the Maipure-Arawako peoples of the Amazon Northwest and their sacredness is shared by the indigenous societies of the Tukano linguistic family in the neighboring Vaupés river and with which they maintain strong cultural ties |
