| English abstract | Being considered the "Paris City of South America'', the city of Buenos Aires was idealized according to an European urban planning of the 19th century and is characterized, still today, as the greatest Latin-American metropolis of the Argentinian Belle Époque. The ideological setting built around this city is white and hegemonic, there is the predominance of European habits and customs and the major circulation of subjects with an European cultural background in the urban space. The present paper seeks to contextualize the reader about the black geo-graphies of the city of Buenos Aires in the 19th century, analise the presence of some black population in the "porteña'' city and locate the former black neighbourhoods, situated in the “Historical Hull”. Besides, we aim to reflect about the structuration of the latin-american societies by black peoples, forcibly brought from Africas to the Americas, which includes the redefinition of the term Latin-America. For the development of this work, it was necessary tosearch for authors who approach the racial issue in Argentina, as well as to analyse the data and information of the geographic distribution of the black population and the spatial transformations of the city. Through this research, it was possible to elaborate a map with the location of former black neighbourhoods in the city of Buenos Aires and reflect about the process of erasure of the memory(ies) and history(ies) of the black population |
| Portuguese abstract | Considerada a Parisda América do Sul, a cidade de Buenos Aires foi idealizada segundo um planejamento urbano europeu do século XIX e se caracteriza, ainda hoje, como sendo a grande metrópole latino-americana da Belle Époqueargentina. O ideário construído acerca dessa cidade é branco e hegemônico, há o predomínio de hábitos e costumes europeus e a circulação majoritária de sujeitos/as de ascendência europeia no espaço urbano. O presente artigo busca contextualizar o/a leitor/a sobre as geo-grafias negras da cidade de Buenos Aires no século XIX, analisar a presença da população negra na cidade portenha e localizar os antigos bairros negros, situados no "Casco Histórico". Objetivamos também refletir sobre a estruturação das sociedades latino-americanas por negros/os trazidos/asforçosamente de Áfricas para as Américas o que inclui a ressignificação do termo América Latina. Para o desenvolvimento desse trabalho foi necessário realizar um levantamento bibliográfico de autores/as que abordam a temática racial na Argentina, bem comoanálise de dados e informações da distribuição geográfica da população negra e das transformações espaciais da cidade. Através dessa pesquisa, foi possível elaborar um mapa com a localização dos antigos bairros negros da cidade de Buenos Aires e refletir sobre os processos de apagamento de memória(s) e história(s) da população negra |
