| Spanish abstract | Las características estructurales de un bosque natural son un aspecto muy importante para conocer su dinámica y especialmente para definir su estructura y composición, lo que permitirá diseñar un plan de manejo dependiendo de los resultados obtenidos. El área de estudio está localizada en el sector nororiental de la ciudad de Popayán, siendo muy importante su estudio debido a su cercanía con la ciudad y por consiguiente a la presión que soporta por la influencia constante de visitantes. Este estudio permite definir las características más importantes de la estructura horizontal de un bosque natural, identificar las especies que hacen parte del mismo y las características de Abundancia, Dominancia, Frecuencia e Índice de Valor de Importancia, así como el Cociente de mezcla, permitiendo definir importancia ecológica y grado de heterogeneidad del ecosistema |
| English abstract | The structural characteristics of a natural forest are very important to understand its dynamics and especially to define its structure and composition, which will design a management plan based on the results obtained. The study area is located in the northeastern sector of the city of Popayán is very important to study because of its proximity to the city and therefore the pressure that bears the influence of visitors. This study allows defining the major characteristics of the horizontal structure of a natural forest, identifying species that are part of the same characteristics and abundance, dominance, Frequency and Importance Value Index and the ratio of mixture, allowing the definition ecological importance and degree of heterogeneity of the ecosystem |
