| English abstract | The purpose of this experiment was to evaluate the resistance of cabbage, from the germplasm bank at the Instituto Agronômico de Campinas, to the aphid Brevicoryne brassicae (L.). Thirteen varieties were tested under greenhouse and field conditions, using 4 replicates, each one consisting of a cage with 10 insects at the adaxial surface of the leaf. The nymphal period, nymphal survival, reproductive period, post-reproductive period and the duration of the whole cycle were determined. It was concluded that, of the varieties tested, F-Manteiga I-916, A-Manteiga Ribeirão Pires I-2620 and H-Manteiga Ribeirão Pires I-2446 were the least favorable to the development of the aphid population and EGigante I-915 and P-Verde Escura were the most favorable in the field. In greenhouse conditions, E-Gigante I-915 and H-Manteiga de Ribeirão Pires I-2446 were the most favorable, while A-Manteiga Ribeirão Pires I-2620 and PVerde Escura were the least favorable |
| Portuguese abstract | Esse estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a resistência de variedades de couve do banco de germoplasma do Instituto Agronômico de Campinas, em Campinas, ao pulgão Brevicoryne brassicae (L.). Foram avaliadas 13 variedades em condição de campo (telado) e casa-de-vegetação, utilizando-se quatro repetições, cada uma constituída de uma gaiola com dez insetos confinados na superfície adaxial da folha. Foram determinados o período ninfal, a sobrevivência ninfal, o período reprodutivo, período pós-reprodutivo e a duração do ciclo total. Pode-se concluir que, dentre as variedades testadas, as menos favoráveis ao desenvolvimento da população do pulgão foram F-Manteiga I-916, A-Manteiga de Ribeirão Pires I-2620 e H-Manteiga de Ribeirão Pires I-2446, enquanto que E-Gigante I-915 e Pverde Escura foram as mais favoráveis em campo. Em casa-de-vegetação, as variedades menos favoráveis foram A-Manteiga de Ribeirão Pires I-2620 e Pverde Escura. As mais favoráveis foram E-Gigante I-915 e H- Manteiga de Ribeirão Pires I-2446 |
