| Spanish abstract | Objetivo: Revelar las tendencias de publicación que marcaron el desarrollo de la revista Cuba. Diseño/Metodología/Enfoque: La aplicación de técnicas métricas propició que se obtuvieran datos desde el punto de vista cuantitativo sobre la producción de la revista en todos los años que se editó y en sus dos etapas. Estos se enriquecieron con la información derivada del análisis documental del contenido de la publicación y de otras fuentes bibliográficas. Se determinaron como indicadores: producción por años, productividad por autores, producción por género, producción por país, producción temática y producción por géneros periodísticos. Resultados/Discusión: Se obtuvo un total de 39 autores y 31 temáticas. El 95 % de los autores fueron del género masculino y predominaron los fotógrafos y artistas. Los autores firmantes procedieron de 42 naciones, constituyendo los cubanos el 72%. Conclusiones: Se constató que la revista tuvo entre sus tendencias la consolidación de sus equipos de trabajos, propiciando cada vez más la participación de sus integrantes. Prevalecieron los autores personales y se mantuvo un núcleo autoral concentrado en un conjunto de ellos. Hubo propensión al aumento de mujeres colaboradoras. La participación de los extranjeros fue acrecentándose, en particular los latinoamericanos. Las temáticas que se abordaron resultaron con los años más diversas. En los géneros periodísticos preponderaron la noticia, el reportaje y la entrevista. Originalidad/Valor: Con este estudio se aportan nuevos conocimientos sobre la revista Cuba, publicación que se distinguió por la calidad de sus trabajos y atractivo diseño editorial en el entorno mediático de los años sesenta del siglo xx |
| English abstract | Objective: Reveal the publication trends of the journal Cuba. Design/Methodology/Approach: The application of bibliometric techniques led to obtain data from the quantitative point of view on the production of the journal in all the years that were published and in its two stages. These were enriched with the information derived from the documentary analysis of the content of the publication and other bibliographic sources. The following indicators were determined: production by years, authors, gender, country, topics and journalistic genresResults/Discussion: A total of 39 authors and 31 topics were obtained. 95% of the authors were male, and photographers and artists predomi- nated. The signing authors came from 42 nations, with Cubans 72%. Conclusions: It was found that the journal had among its trends the con- solidation of its work teams, encouraging more and more the participation of its members. The personal authors prevailed, and an authorial nucleus remained concentrated in a group of them. There was a propensity to increase female collaborators. The participation of foreigners increased, particularly among Latin-Americans. The themes that were addressed re- sulted in the most diverse years. In the journalistic genres the news, the report and the interview predominated. Originality/Value: This study brings new knowledge about the journal Cuba, a publication that was distinguished by the quality of its work and attractive editorial design in the media environment of the sixties of the twentieth century |
