| Spanish abstract | Cuando se piensa o habla sobre la bioseguridad en archivos, bibliotecas y museos inmediatamente se hace una asociación con las medidas a tomar para proteger al personal de la Covid-19 y, aunque este es un elemento esencial porque al ser una enfermedad nueva constituye el eje de atención principal, cabe mencionar que en los archivos cubanos la bioseguridad se viene aplicando desde la década del 80 del siglo pasado. Las características climáticas de Cuba, las condiciones de ventilación/climatización en los archivos de todo el país y el riesgo biológico latente al que se expone el personal (existencia de bioaerosoles fúngicos) han contribuido con la implementación y generalización de normas vinculadas con la bioseguridad. El procedimiento para la limpieza y desinfección de depósitos, mobiliario y documentos de archivos existente que se ha actualizado recientemente para cumplir con las expectativas de este momento ante la pandemia de la Covid-19, se ha establecido con carácter de obligatorio de cumplimiento en todos los archivos cubanos. Por ello, el objetivo de este trabajo es exponer la importancia de la bioseguridad en los archivos cubanos y sobre todo en este periodo de Covid-19 (durante y post pandemia) |
| English abstract | When thinking or talking about biosecurity in archives, libraries and museums, an association is immediately made with the measures to be taken to protect staff from Covid-19 and although this is an essential element because being a new disease it constitutes the axis of main attention, it is worth mentioning that in the Cuban archives biosafety has been applied since the 80s of the last century. The climatic characteristics of Cuba, the ventilation / air conditioning conditions in the archives throughout the country and the latent biological risk to which the personnel is exposed (existence of fungal bioaerosols) have contributed to the implementation and generalization of standards related to biosecurity. The existing procedure for cleaning and disinfection of warehouses, furniture, and archival documents that has been recently updated to meet the expectations of this time when the Covid-19 pandemic exists has been established with mandatory compliance in all the Cuban archives. Therefore, the objective of this work is to expose the importance of biosafety in Cuban archives and especially in this period of Covid-19 (during and post pandemic) |
