| Spanish abstract | El texto analiza las características y el funcionamiento del Acueducto de Albear, una obra excepcional de la ingeniería cubana de todos los tiempos proyectada por el ingeniero militar Francisco Albear y de Lara, quien además dirigió su ejecución a lo largo de la segunda mitad del siglo XIX. Esta importante obra logró satisfacer con creces las necesidades de la población de entonces con un agua de excelente calidad y continúa funcionando en forma eficiente hasta el presente. | English abstract | The paper analyzes the characteristics and operation of Albear Aqueduct, an exceptional work of Cuban engineering of all time, designed by the military engineer Francisco Albear and Lara, who also directed its implementation over the second half of the nineteenth century.
