| Spanish abstract | El presente trabajo trata sobre el juego de pelota de Capulac-Concepción (P-211), excavado en 1975 por el grupo del profesor Ángel García Cook (PAPT-FAIC), construido entre el 600-300 a.C., durante la fase Texoloc de Valle en pleno apogeo ocupacional del sitio. Hasta el momento se trata del juego de pelota más antiguo detectado en el Altiplano central de México. Enterados de la sorprendente noticia sobre su desaparición, intentamos reconstruir los hechos que derivaron en un turbio proceso de “urbanización” por parte de una organización de colonos que arrasaron los vestigios arqueológicos, ante la gestión displicente de las autoridades responsables de su custodia |
| English abstract | This work is about the ballcourt in Capulac-Concepcion (P-211), excavated in 1975 by the group studying with Professor Ángel García Cook (PAPT/FAIC) and built between 600–300 BC during the Texoloc Valley phase during the peak occupation of the site. It is the oldest ballcourt found to date in the Central Highlands of Mexico. Given the startling news of its disappearance, we tried to reconstruct the events that led to a murky process of “urbanization” by an organization of residents that did away with the archaeological remains, given indifferent management on the part of the authorities responsible for its safekeeping |
