| Spanish abstract | Se describen e ilustran en detalle Jaltomata angasmarcae S. Leiva & Mione y Jaltomata pauciseminata S. Leiva & Mione (Solanaceae) dos nuevas especies del Norte del Perú. Jaltomata angasmarcae es propia de los alrededores de la ciudad de Angasmarca en la ruta hacia Tulpo, Distrito Angasmarca, Prov. Santiago de Chuco, Dpto. La Libertad, Perú, a los 08o 08’ 044” S y 78o 03’ 012” W, alrededor de los 2880 m de elevación, presenta (3-) 4 (-5) flores por nudo, corola tubular-rotada, blanco-cremosa con una anillo púrpura en la hemialtura y 10 manchas verdes en el área basal interiormente, pubescente rodeada por una cobertura de pelos eglandulares transparentes externamente, área libre de los filamentos estaminales rodeados por pelos eglandulares transparentes que ocupan el 50-60 % del área basal, 39-45 semillas por baya, arbustos (0,40-) 0,60-0,80 m de alto y Jaltomata pauciseminata S. Leiva & Mione habita en los alrededores de las aguas termales arriba de la Ciudad de Cachicadán, alrededor de los 3050 m de elevación y en la ruta Algallama-Angasmarca, Distrito Cachicadán, Prov. Santiago de Chuco, Dpto. La Libertad, Perú, a los 08o 07’ 57,0” S y 78o 04’ 50,7” W alrededor de los 3232 m de elevación tiene el cáliz campanulado a veces ligeramente aplanado, verde, rodeado por una densa cobertura de pelos ramificados transparentes externamente, corola crateriforme o campanulada-crateriforme, cremosa con un anillo púrpura-intenso o lila-intenso con 10 manchas verdes en el área basal interiormente, ciliada rodeada por una cobertura de pelos ramificados transparentes externamente, 5-7 mm de diámetro en la antésis, 10-lobulado, estambres nunca conniventes, inclusos, homodínamos, anteras sin mucrón apical incipiente, 4-6 semillas por baya, arbustos 0,70-1,20 m de alto. | English abstract | Two new species of northern Peru, Jaltomata angasmarcae S. Leiva & Mione and Jaltomata pauciseminata S. Leiva & Mione (Solanaceae), are described and illustrated in detail. Jaltomata angasmarcae grows near the city of Angasmarca (en route to Tulpo), Dept. La Libertad, Prov. Santiago de Chuco, District Angasmarca, at 08º 08’ 044” S and 78º 03’ 012” W, near 2880 m of elevation; it is a shrub (40 -) 60–80 cm high, having (3-) 4 (-5) flowers per inflorescence; the corolla is short-tubular with a rotate limb, (15-) 17–20 mm in diameter, white-cream with a purple ring where the tube meets the limb, and 10 green maculae proximal to the purple ring, externally with a pubescence of simple transparent hairs; the staminal filaments are surrounded by simple transparent hairs along the proximal 50-60 % of their length; there are 39-45 seeds per orange berry. Jaltomata pauciseminata S. Leiva & Mione grows in the area surrounding the thermal waters above the town of Cachicadan, around 3050 m of elevation, near the path Algallama-Angasmarca, Dept. La Libertad, Prov. Santiago de Chuco, District Cachicadán, at 08º 07’ 57.0” S and 78º 04’ 50.7 “ W, near 3232 m of elevation; it is a shrub 70 –120 cm high, having (6-) 8–10 flowers per inflorescence; the corolla is crateriform or campanulate-crateriform, 5–7 mm in diameter, 10-lobed, cream-colored with an intense purple/lilac ring and 10 green maculae proximal to the purple ring, externally with a pubescence of transparent branched hairs; the staminal filaments are pubescent along the proximal 10–20% of their length; there are 4 –6 seeds per berry. In addition to the descriptions and illustrations, we discuss relationships with other species and include data on ethnobotany, geographical distribution, ecology, phenology, and current status |
