Spanish abstract | Objetivo: Describir las características clínicas, patológicas y endoscópicas en pacientes con cáncer de colon y recto. Material y métodos: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, retrospectivo y transversal, en el Hospital General de Culiacán Dr. Bernardo J. Gastélum, comprendido de 1999 a 2008. Las variables fueron, edad, sexo, datos clínicos, localización, tipo histológico, hallazgos endoscópicos. Datos analizados mediante el software SPSS© versión 15 y MINITAB© V15. Resultados: De 55 pacientes, 15 (27.2%) fueron de 41 a 50 años. La edad promedio de las mujeres fue de 49.28±2.98 años contra 58.78±1.96 en hombres. Antes de los 60 años existe mas riesgo de cáncer en la mujer, a partir de los 65 años se invierte. La localización más frecuente fue la rectal. El aspecto macroscópico predominante a la endoscopía reportado fue la infiltración difusa. Conclusiones: Los principales datos clínicos fueron dolor abdominal, pujo y tenesmo, estreñimiento, distensión abdominal y pérdida de peso, encontrando con mayor frecuencia el adenocarcinoma difuso y ulcerado moderadamente diferenciado |
English abstract | Objetive: To describe the clinical and pathological endoscopy behavior in patients of General Hospital of Culiacan with cancer of the colon and rectum. Methods: A descriptive, retrospective and cross sectional study in the oncology unit of the General Hospital of Culiacán Dr. Bernardo J. Gastelum, in the period 1999 to 2008. The variables studied were age, sex, clinical data, location, histologic type, endoscopic findings, using SPSS software version 15 and MINITAB © V15. Results: The 55 patients were classified by finding the highest percentage of patients between 41 to 50 years (27.2%)15 patients. There is no significant difference by gender. The average age of detection of the women was 49.28 ± 2.98 years; men averaged 58.78 ± 1.96 years. Before 60 years there is more risk of cancer in women, from 65 years is reversed. The location of colorectal cancer by endoscopy was the most frequent rectal. The macroscopic appearance at endoscopy predominant reported infiltration was diffuse. Conclusions: The main clinical features were abdominal pain, pujo and tenesmus, constipation, bloating and weight loss was found more frequently the adenocarcinoma diffuse and ulcerous moderately differentiated |
