| English abstract | This article reviews the reflections about the relationship between humans and animals in the work of the British anthropologist Tim Ingold by focusing on the different uses of the concept of domestication. We analyze here the seven major works of the author that comprise four phases of his thought. Initially a tool used by Ingold to approach interspecific relationships between humans and the reindeer, domestication is reconsidered as a way of repositioning the relationship between humans and animals in terms of evolution. It is then reconsidered in the context of a critique of the industrial society, and, ultimately, it has its value as a concept dissipated by the idea of an omnipresent life. |
| Portuguese abstract | Este ensaio bibliográfico resenha o tratamento da relação entre humanos e animais na obra do antropólogo britânico Tim Ingold, por meio do enfoque nos usos variados da noção de domesticação. São analisadas aqui as sete obras autorais de Ingold, que compõem quatro fases de seu pensamento. De ferramenta para uma aproximação das relações interespecíficas entre humanos e renas, a domesticação passa a figurar como um modo de reposicionar a relação entre humanos e animais no plano da evolução, em seguida é repensada no âmbito de uma crítica à sociedade industrial e, por fim, tem seu valor enquanto conceito dissipado pela ideia de uma onipresença da vida. |
