| Spanish abstract | Se aborda la antropología del gesto expresivo. Dicho método fue crea-do y desarrollado por el antropólogo y lingüista francés Marcel Jousse. La obra de Jousse es prácticamente desconocida entre antropólogos y otros científicos so-ciales de habla hispana. El gesto es un hecho omnipresente, como lo es el razo-namiento basado en la metáfora. Se exa-minan algunos ejemplos de gestualidad expresiva, procedentes del arte maya antiguo y de población latinoamericana de época contemporánea |
| English abstract | The anthropology of the ex-pressive gesture is approached. This method was created and developed by the French anthropologist and linguist Marcel Jousse. Jousse’s work is virtu-ally unknown among anthropologists and other Spanish-speaking social sci-entists. The gesture is an omnipresent fact, as is the reasoning based on the metaphor. Some examples of expressive gestures, from ancient Mayan art and from the Latin American population of contemporary times, are examined |
