Spanish abstract | El artículo reconstruye la bio-grafía de Elena Torres Cuéllar mediante el análisis la documentación de su archivo personal; se exponen aspectos de su vida y obra, en particular su tra-yectoria política, educativa y feminista en dos periodos del siglo xx mexicano: la Revolución y la posrevolución. Elena fue una mujer comprometida con las causas sociales: emprendió tareas de dirección y liderazgo; ganó experiencia internacional al ser consejera menor en la creación de la unesco, en 1946. Su participación en el espacio de la políti-ca, dominado por los hombres, trastocó la normatividad de género, y provocó su marginación y separación de los proyec-tos que emprendió |
English abstract | The article reconstructs the biography of Elena Torres Cuéllar through the analysis of the documenta-tion of her personal file; aspects of her life and work are exposed, in particular her political, educational and feminist trajectory in two periods of the Mexican 20th century: the Revolution and the post-revolution. Elena was a woman committed to social causes: she under-took management and leadership tasks; She gained international experience as a minor advisor to the creation of unesco in 1946. Her participation in the male-dominated arena of politics disrupted gender norms, causing her to be marginalized and separated from the projects that she undertook |
