El fandango, como baile específico ofiesta popular, tenía difusión por toda la ver-tiente del Pacífico novohispano y en territo-rios interiores. Ha sido documentado enSayula en 1728 y en Valladolid, hoy Morelia,en 1746. |
English abstract | This article reveals diverse historicalcircumstances that bear witness to the earlypresence of the fandango in the Americas.The first reference to this type of dance maybe found in a manuscript from 1705 in theBiblioteca Nacional [in Spain]. The fandan-go, as a specific dance or fiesta celebrated bythe people, was widespread throughout thePacific watershed of New Spain as well asinland. It was documented in Sayula in 1728and in Valladolid, today Morelia, in 1746 |
