| Spanish abstract | El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar el uso de eufemismos en los discursos del Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM) respecto a su política sobre la migración en tránsito irregular por territorio mexicano. Para su logro se realiza un análisis cualitativo de los eufemismos como metáforas conceptuales en los comunicados de prensa del INM y de sus finalidades. Concluimos que el uso de eufemismos en los discursos del INM implica tanto la ocultación como la tergiversación de la realidad que constituyen sus actuaciones de control migratorio en perjuicio de los migrantes en tránsito |
| English abstract | The objective of this paper is to analyze the use of euphemisms in discourses of the National Institute of Migration (INM) regarding its policy on migration in irregular transit through Mexican territory. To achieve this, a qualitative analysis of euphemisms is performed as conceptual metaphors in press releases of the INM and its purposes. We conclude that the use of euphemisms in the discourses of the INM implies the concealment and the misrepresentation of reality that constitute its migratory control actions to the detriment of migrants in transit |
