| Spanish abstract | Este artículo analiza las políticas gubernamentales y las alternativas desarrolladas por un sector de la población indígena en relación con la educación intercultural, considerada como uno de los ejes más significativos para entender la multiculturalidad. Se argumenta que las actuales iniciativas gubernamentales en el campo de la educación intercultural, si bien han retomado una demanda histórica de los pueblos indígenas, la han refuncionalizado a partir de una perspectiva reduccionista de sus implicaciones. Planteamientos alternos a esta versión gubernamental de la educación intercultural como los que aquí se muestran, si bien apuntan hacia la posibilidad de concebir la multiculturalidad y la interculturalidad desde coordenadas distintas, enfrentan ahora el reto de actualizar sus referentes y no quedar atrapados entre los discursos, las instituciones y las políticas gubernamentales de corte neoindigenista |
| English abstract | This article analyzes government policies and the alternatives developed by a sector of the indigenous population in intercultural education, considered to be one of the fundamental aspects to understand multiculturalism. The author argues that current governmental initiatives in intercultural education, even if they consider the historic demands of indigenous people, they take said demands with a reduced vision of their implications. The alternative approaches to this governmental version of intercultural education, as this article shows, though they may tend toward the possibility of thinking about multiculturalism and interculturalism from different reference points, now face the challenge of updating their proposals to avoid getting coopted by neoindigenist discourses of governmental policies and institutions |
