| Spanish abstract | El presente artículo tiene como objetivo analizar algunas producciones artísticas de Óscar Sánchez, en el campo fotográfico, del VIH/sida desde sus implicaciones corporales y la autorrepresentación. Aunque de acuerdo con algunas/os autoras/es, sobre todo desde la epidemiología, vivimos en una etapa de “estabilización” respecto al padecimiento, nuestro interés radica en ofrecer una lectura feminista que informe al campo del arte sobre las necesarias implicaciones corpóreo-afectivas del virus. Intentamos que este trabajo, al acudir al arte de la década de 1980, nos recuerde que es necesario seguir visibilizando los estragos del VIH/sida en esta nueva era y proponemos (re)utilizar las representaciones artísticas del cuerpo como canal de expresión-denuncia ante esta era de “normalización” del virus |
| English abstract | This paper has the objective to analyze some artistic manifestations by Mexican artist Óscar Sánchez about HIV/AIDS from its corporeal and auto-representational implications. Although some epidemiologist scholars have argued that we are living in a “stable” era due to antiretroviral therapy, we are interested in challenge this argument through a feminist account that informs the artistic field on the corporeal-affective implications involved in the socio-cultural experience of the virus. We try in this article to turn back to the 80´s artistic manifestations about hiv/aids as a reminder at the importance to make visible the current characteristics of the illness and propose to re(use) the artistic representations of the body as a expression-complain channel to this new “normalization” era |
