| Spanish abstract | Los melanocitomas son tumores benignos que ocasionalmente desarrollan un comportamiento maligno y cuyo origen son los melanocitos de las leptomeninges. Se presentan de forma más frecuente en la fosa posterior, con una localización primordialmente extramedular. Presentamos el caso de una paciente con un melanocitoma intramedular. | English abstract | Melanocytomas are benign tumors that originate in the melanocytes of the leptomeninges and occasionally develop a malignant behavior. Their most frequent location is extramedular, in the posterior fossa. We describe the case of a patient with an intramedullary melanocytoma. The unusual presentation in this case merits high degree of suspicion and inclusion in the differential diagnosis of intramedullary spinal cord tumors |
