| Spanish abstract | El propósito de este artículo es argumentar que es posible describir las estructuras de las socie-dades humanas y sus instituciones -y, entre estas, las políticas- desde la concepción inaugurada por Wittgenstein que considera el lenguaje y la acción como constitutivos del significado. Con el lenguaje y la acción, como se mostrará, los seres humanos gramaticalizan el mundo y les adscriben características ontológicas a sus componentes, creando instituciones sociales y políticas. El artículo permite concluir que la perspectiva de análisis desde el lenguaje y la acción amplía la comprensión de los fundamentos de las instituciones sociales. | English abstract | The purpose of this article is to argue that it is possible to describe the structures of human societies and their institutions—and, among these, the political ones—from the conception inaugurated by Wittgenstein that considers language and action as constitutive of meaning. With language and ac-tion, as will be shown, human beings grammaticize the world and attach ontological characteristics to its components, creating social and political institutions. The article allows us to conclude that the perspective of analysis from language and action broadens the understanding of the foundations of social institutions.
