| Spanish abstract | El documento contiene los resultados de un estudio de corte cualitativo con el propósito de describir y comprender las representaciones sociales respecto del proceso salud-enfermedad. Se profundiza en los saberes, creencias, conocimientos y prácticas respecto de tal proceso en personas de 65 años y más, y su articulación con otros elementos de la realidad social. La propuesta fue recorrer en sentido inverso el camino mediante el cual se sostiene la existencia de las representaciones sociales. Por tanto, en el camino inverso -la subjetividad de los individuos-, se exploró la perspectiva de los mismos adultos mayores. El modelo en el que se basó la investigación, se elaboró como una alternativa para mantener el equilibrio entre un determinismo social y la apuesta a la capacidad creativa de los individuos. El modelo supone que cada individuo es un punto donde convergen redes de relaciones: éstas atraviesan los individuos, pero también trasciende la vida de ellos y llegan a poseer una existencia independiente y un desarrollo propio. Los resultados más importantes destacan la dualidad entre salud y enfermedad, enfermedad débil y fuerte; resaltándose las representaciones sociales de que la enfermedad débil no es mortal y que la enfermedad fuerte no le toca a uno |
| English abstract | This document contains results from a study of qualitative focus with the purpose of describing and understanding the social representation regarding to the health sickness process. It goes deeply into the cognocitive, beliefs, knowledge and practice with regard to such process in 65 year old people and older and their articulation with other elements of the social reality. The proposal was to cover backward the path through which the social representations existence is held. Therefore, in the inverse path-the individual subjectivity- it is explored the perspective from the elders themselves. The model in which the survey was based, was created as an alternative to keep the balance between a social determinism and the betting on the creative capacity of the individuals. The model assumes that each individual is a point were the nets relation met: not only do these go through the individuals but they also go beyond their lives reaching one independent being and one own development. The most important outcomes outstand the duality either between health and sickness and between week sickness and strong sickness; outstanding the social representations that week sickness are not mortal and that strong sickness doesn't affect you |
