| English abstract | Brazilian historical buildings, considered in all their range and complexity, are one of the major constituents of the planning and ordering process of the dynamic growth of the cities as well as one of the items for the affirmation of identities. Within each period of a historic phase from a given urban gathering, each society diversifies itself through its own buildings, marking that period and its consequent needs. Nevertheless, each place is full of individual perceptions and its own sensations which define the characteristics of that space – constituted by the protective presence of the genius loci, through vernacular architecture, in either historical landmarks or industrial facilities. Thus, the importance of the conservation of these monuments is exemplified by historicalcultural buildings in the North and Northwest of the State of Paraná, constituting those cities’ history and identity |
| Portuguese abstract | As edificações históricas no Brasil, consideradas em toda a amplitude e complexidade, se impõem como um dos principais componentes no processo de planejamento e ordenação da dinâmica de crescimento das cidades e como um dos itens na afirmação de identidades. Em cada período de uma fase histórica de determinada aglomeração urbana, cada sociedade se diversifica através das suas edificações, registrando aquela determinada época e suas necessidades decorrentes. Além disso, cada lugar é carregado de percepções individuais e de sensações próprias, os quais definem as características daquele determinado espaço, que se faz marcado pela presença protetora do genius loci, através da arquitetura vernacular, tanto em monumentos históricos, como em instalações industriais. Assim, a importância da conservação desses monumentos é exemplificada com edificações histórico-culturais nas regiões Norte e Noroeste do Estado do Paraná que constituem a história e a identidade dessas cidades |
