| English abstract | Psychoanalysis and structural linguistics: The relationships between the conceptions of language and of significance of Saussure and Lacan. The present paper aims at providing a critical analysis of the appropriation Lacan makes of Sussure’s structural linguistics theory. The objective is to identify similarities and differences between Lacanian and Saussurian theories regarding language, speech, signifier, meaning and sign. Thus, in the face of the epistemological perspective promoted by Saussure, the aim is to demonstrate how Lacan makes use of these concepts to support the building of his own theory of language. Finally, the article considers some difficulties which emerge from the attempt to ‘bring together’ two theories: structuralist fundaments and psychoanitic principles |
| Portuguese abstract | Propõe-se um exame crítico da apropriação que Lacan faz da teoria linguística estrutural de Saussure, identificando semelhanças e diferenças entre a teoria lacaniana e a saussuriana da significação, bem como de conceitos como “linguagem”, “língua”, “fala”, “significante”, “significado” e “signo”. Desta forma, pretendese demonstrar que frente à perspectiva epistemológica para o estudo da “linguagem” oferecida pela linguística saussuriana, Lacan dela se serve como base inicial para a construção da sua própria concepção de linguagem. Por fim, o artigo considera algumas dificuldades originadas pela iniciativa de aproximar princípios da teoria psicanalítica a fundamentos estruturalistas |
