| Spanish abstract | El iris del ojo humano como sistema de identificación forense no hace parte de los métodos de identificación que rigen en Colombia, establecidos en la Ley 906 de 2004 en el artículo 251, por medio del cual instaura que para la identificación de las personas podrán utilizarse las características morfológicas de las huellas digitales, la carta dental y el perfil genético en el ADN. La investigación realizada inicia con la definición y exploración de los métodos establecidos en el Código de Procedimiento Penal de Colombia, con un análisis histórico sobre la aplicabilidad de cada uno, donde se mostrará el primer caso resuelto por cada método. Seguidamente, se analiza el iris humano como método de identificación forense, resaltando la caracterización completa del ojo. Finalmente, a través del sistema comparado se tomará en cuenta a los países que han innovado con esta técnica y se revisará la tecnología actual en el mundo y la aplicabilidad de la identificación por medio del iris, así como también, revisaremos los requisitos de carácter legal para aplicarlo en Colombia |
| English abstract | The iris of the human eye as a forensic identification system is not part of the identification methods in force in Colombia, established in Law 906 of 2004 in Article 251, which states that the morphological characteristics of fingerprints, dental chart and DNA genetic profile may be used for the identification of people. The research begins with the definition and exploration of the methods established in the Colombian Code of Criminal Procedure, with a historical analysis of the applicability of each one, where the first case solved by each method will be shown. Next, the human iris is analyzed as a forensic identification method, highlighting the complete characterization of the eye. Finally, through the comparative system we will take into account the countries that have innovated with this technique and we will review the current technology in the world and the applicability of the identification by means of the iris, as well as we will review the legal requirements to apply it in Colombia |
